Why?
Why have I agreed to let my name stand for nomination in the riding of South Okanagan West Kootenays?
Perhaps like you, I’ve been very concerned about the democratic process in Canada, and how well it’s been serving Canadians. There’s been a lack of open, authentic debate in the House about the social and economic policies that will affect our lives. Over the past several years, leaders have also used nothing but divisive rhetoric and empty talking points to try to coerce their agendas onto our country. I’m tired of this, and I’m sure you are too.
I believe there is a better way to do politics. A better way to arrive at solutions that will best reflect the will of the Canadian people, and of you, the people of South Okanagan West Kootenays. This is why I’ve decided to let my name stand.
“I am a Canadian “
free to speak without fear,
free to worship in my own way,
free to stand for what I think right,
free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country.
This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.”
Prosperous
Canada has been blessed with an abundance of natural resources, such as wood, oil and gas, coal, and rare earth minerals. Producing these resources to meet the global demand has allowed Canada to become a wealthy, stable nation with generous social support for our less fortunate. However, the current government has stymied the growth of these industries and demonized Canadians who work in these sectors. I’ll always fight to get our resources to market, and stand up for the Canadians who work in these valued industries.
Just
In the last several years, we’ve seen radical agendas take hold in Canada that override the rights of Canadians. Gender ideology is being taught to students against the wishes of parents, who want their children to learn accurate, scientific information. State-sponsored assisted suicide used to be an option solely for the terminally ill; now, it’s being recommended to minors and the homeless. Law-abiding Canadians have lost the right to buy, sell, and bequeath their legally acquired firearms as they see fit. Canada needs true justice, where boundaries between the government and citizens are respected and enforced. I’ll make sure that happens.
Strong
Canada used to be a respected member of NATO and the 5EYES. However, over the past seven years, the Trudeau government has created a reputation of reticence and indecision, and Canada is now being seen as an unreliable partner by our allies. We need a government that understands the costs and responsibilities that come with membership. One that will end our enmeshed relationships with foreign, anti-democratic regimes, as well as with the multinational organizations that seek to undermine our sovereignty and independence
Free
I’ve always stood for the fundamental rights and freedoms of Canadians as outlined by the Constitution of Canada and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. These two documents were meant to protect rights from government overreach.
Sadly, the last two years have proven how easily the state will use the excuse of an emergency to extend their powers beyond what’s reasonable. We should be free to choose what medical procedures we want without fear of losing our job, our home, or our right to move or protest. If I’m elected your member of Parliament, I will work to ensure legislative safeguards will be put in place to ensure this never happens again to us and our children.
